On June 24, 2025, Mr. Phaophum Rojansakul, Minister of Finance, revealed that at the Cabinet meeting, it was approved to extend the duration and revise the criteria of the "Financial Assistance Program for Entrepreneurs in the 3 Southern Border Provinces" as proposed by the Ministry of Finance. The project's duration will be extended until December 31, 2027.
Mr. Phaophum stated that this decision was made in response to the current situation.
Unrest in the border areas of three southern provinces in recent times has had an impact on the confidence of business owners in conducting business and investments. The government recognizes the need to provide continuous assistance to enable business owners in the area to continue their operations and play a key role in driving the economy in the region.
As for the aforementioned measures, the banks will be involved in providing assistance.
Kasikornbank (KBank) will support low-interest soft loans totaling 15 billion baht to financial institutions participating in the program, including commercial banks and specialized financial institutions, to provide credit to entrepreneurs in targeted areas. These areas include three border provinces in the southern region (Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat) and four districts in Songkhla province (Thepha, Chana, Na Thawi, and Saba Yoi).
Entrepreneurs in need of funding can apply for these loans.
Government initiatives are now in place to support entrepreneurs in accessing low-interest credit to help boost their businesses. With interest rates as low as 1.99% per year, entrepreneurs can borrow up to a maximum of 20 million baht to improve their liquidity or expand their operations.
The government is prioritizing assistance to entrepreneurs in order to provide them with sufficient financial resources for recovery and continued operations. This program will enable entrepreneurs to effectively manage their businesses and ensure their sustainability.
"Boosting Business with Lower Capital, Easing Interest Burden, and Building Confidence for Continuous Business Operations and Investments in the Region, Which Will Have Positive Effects on Financial Expansion, Investment, and Economic Development in the Overall Region."
